Welcome to conference and exhibition

For many years scientists have been debating on pulp and paper making with a minimum effect on the environment. The tendencies in development of manufacturing technologies are heading in the same direction. The development of papermaking technologies have been focused on reduced consumption of fresh water and increased re-use of purified industrial water. Particular attention is paid to energy generation with low emission of greenhouse gases, incl. usage of renewable fuels or heat and power cogeneration. New EU and Polish legislation forces paper manufacturers to increase energy efficiency. Legislators are focused not only on environmental protection but also human health what is evident from regulations on production of packaging as well as paper and board intended for food contact. These are the main issues of the 17th International Papermaking Conference PROGRESS’11, to which we invite everyone.
